Wright marks call-up with ton07.08.2007 06:00 Sports Pro40 Division One, Hove: Sussex 267-8 beat Gloucestershire 266-7 by two wickets Luke Wright celebrated his call-up to England's ICC World Twenty20 squad with a quickfire 125 as Sussex defeated Gloucestershire in Pro40 Division One. After winning the toss, Hamish Marshall's 122 and 76 from Kadeer Ali put the visitors in a good position. But Sussex opener Wright showed the blistering form that earned a call-up, his 125 coming off just 73 balls. Jon Lewis took 4-45 to keep the visitors in it but Sussex reached their target of 267 with nine balls to spare. Wright smashed 19 fours and four sixes in his total for his second century of the season in one-day cricket after hitting a century on the way to being the country's top run scorer in the Twenty20 Cup. He set his side up for a successful run chase by dominating a second-wicket stand of 37 with Ollie Rayner (15) before putting on 73 in 10 overs for the fourth wicket with acting captain Mike Yardy (17). Sussex lost wickets steadily after Wright was dismissed when he holed out to a well-judged catch by Chris Taylor to give spinner Ian Fisher his first wicket. The home side still needed 86 off 87 balls, but ninth-wicket pair Andrew Hodd and Saqlain Mushtaq saw them home. Saqlain sealed the win for the Sharks by on-driving Carl Greenidge for the winning boundary in the penultimate over.
