Tommy Spurr's brilliant late equaliser earned Sheffield Wednesday a point against Plymouth to lift them out of the Championship relegation zone.

Spurr's spectacular long-range shot nine minutes from time earned the Owls' a seventh consecutive draw which moved them up to 20th in the table.

Plymouth led when Peter Halmosi's early free-kick took a wicked deflection off Deon Burton and looped into the net.

Wednesday had more possession but looked set to lose until Spurr's goal.

Sheffield Wednesday manager Brian Laws on the relegation battle:
"It's going to go to the wire. It's all about keeping your nerve.

"There are going to be so many twists and turns on the very last day.

"Leicester will be fighting, Blackpool will be fighting, Coventry, we're all fighting in there and nobody is going to give up."
