Robben deal reports dismissed

Hans Robben, who acts as his son's agent, says the 23-year-old is still considering a move to Real Madrid.

"It's been reported Arjen was offered ?90,000 a week. If that was the case, maybe he would have signed," Hans Robben told the Daily Star.

"In fact, the new contract wasn't really new. It was no good, so we turned it down."

Real have made no secret of their desire to sign Robben but they have so far been unable to agree a fee with Chelsea.

According to reports in Spain, the Blues are holding out for ?24m for the Holland international but Real are only willing to offer ?21m.

Hans Robben said: "Maybe he'll go to Madrid or maybe he'll stay and serve out his current two-year contract."

Real could step up their efforts to seal Robben's transfer after their attempts to sign another Dutch midfielder, Royston Drenthe, apparently failed.

Feyenoord director Peter Vogelzang claimed Real would not meet his club's demands.

Drenthe, one of the stars in the recent European Under-21 Championship, is also a reported target for Chelsea, as is Brazilian defender Daniel Alves.

Right-back Alves has already admitted he wants to leave Sevilla and it is thought that Chelsea will not wait to see if Robben leaves before making their move for the 24-year-old.

Alves told Brazilian television station Arena SporTV: "I have been at Sevilla for five years and I want to improve.

"I want to play in a big team and I think you have to make the most of the opportunities you have in life."
