Heidfeld and Kubica clear the air after collision

BUDAPEST (Reuters) - BMW Sauber drivers Nick Heidfeld and Robert Kubica settled their differences at the Hungarian Grand Prix on Thursday after colliding on the first lap of the previous race in Germany.

"We had a meeting today which was more about discussing how to avoid this in future than about clearing the air," team head Mario Theissen told Reuters.

"Obviously you clear the air at the same time but the main issue was to come to an understanding about how to avoid this for the future."

Kubica, returning to the Hungaroring circuit where he made his Formula One debut last year as a stand-in for Canadian Jacques Villeneuve, was scathing about Heidfeld after the Nuerburgring incident.

The German also collided with compatriot Ralf Schumacher's Toyota on lap 19.

"Someone who crashes into two cars within 20 laps won't last long in F1," German media quoted the Pole as saying of his more experienced team mate.

"He didn't tell me that," Heidfeld told reporters when asked about the remark. "I have seen a lot of things in the magazines which were not true so as long as he doesn't tell me, I don't comment."

"We cleared the situation internally and that's as much as we are going to say about it," added the German.  Continued...
